Data Center Frontier Trends Summit (DCFTS) is an annual industry conference produced by the publication Data Center Frontier. It brings together data center operators, developers, engineers, and investors to address high-density design, AI-driven digital infrastructure growth, power capacity, and liquid cooling solutions.
The conference, designed to empower data center leaders and stakeholders with the knowledge and insights needed to navigate the digital infrastructure landscape, took place August 4-6 and drew more than 450 attendees.
Not only did Nautilus sponsor the event, but we also had our VP of Engineering, Robert Post, and our Vice President of Corporate Development, Mark Anderson, host a roundtable session, โLiquid Cooling Challenges: From Early Adoption to Operational Reality,โ and it was one of the most widely attended sessions at the conference. Robert Post also spoke on the โFrom Hybrid to Liquid: Scaling Cooling Infrastructure for the next era of AIโ panel on the final day of the event. To say we had our finger on the pulse of the liquid cooling conversation would be an understatement.
The future of data center development was covered from every aspect of the industry, and discussions were focused on execution and new standards for where things are being built, with land capabilities notoriously being the most important. One keynote session brought up ideas about management styles and realistic timing.
Nautilus was there to talk about what liquid cooling looks like today, in facilities where GPUs are already running hot, and operators need answers that hold up past the install date.
We work with colocation operators, AI companies, and hyperscalers (among others) who are sizing infrastructure for workloads that didn’t exist a year and a half ago. That’s a very different starting point than a design concept. Our answers in Reston came from real deployments. They addressed issues such as what breaks during a retrofit, what water stewardship requires at scale, what “operationally ready” means once a facility is live and can’t afford downtime to fix a design assumption.
That’s the piece we brought to the conversation. Not another projection of where the market is headed, but a grounded account of what happens after the equipment order ships and the facility has to run for the next decade.
Reston reinforced something we see often in customer conversations: liquid cooling is no longer just a differentiator, itโs the cost of entry.
