Opening: Data Center Technician in Stockton, CA

Nautilus Data Technologies is seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our Operations team in Stockton, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring our critical infrastructure systems, ensuring compliance with high service and security standards. This role involves investigating internal alerts, following established escalation procedures, and providing top-tier support to both colocation customers and building tenants.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Critical Facilities Monitoring System and respond to alarm events.
  • Provide support and equipment troubleshooting for physical and remote customers.
  • Manage customer support requests using a web-based ticketing system for access requests, remote hands troubleshooting, order processing, maintenance, and general support.
  • Execute sales orders and prepare facilities to support new customer environments.
  • Perform site walkthroughs to collect readings from critical electrical/mechanical equipment and monitor facility conditions.
  • Assist with physical security monitoring using cameras, access badges, and door alarms.
  • Perform rack and stack tasks for customer equipment.
  • Conduct routine operational tasks including equipment handling, repairs, troubleshooting, and interconnection circuit orders.
  • Manage customer package deliveries, including receiving, handling, storing, and shipping.
  • Handle client inquiries professionally, coordinate appropriate resources, and resolve issues.
  • Assist in client deployment strategies and facility expansion projects.
  • Sign visitors in and out, and escort authorized personnel as needed.
  • Monitor and assist during planned outages or maintenance windows.
  • Maintain detailed logs of all events, anomalies, inventory, and work tickets.
  • Foster ethical, professional, and courteous relations with contractors, tenants, and colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Position Requirements and Desired Skills

  • 2 years of data center experience or closely related technical fields required (healthcare, military, or other critical facilities support)
  • Hands-on experience supporting data center or critical facility operations, civilian or military
  • Familiarity with data center cooling and power infrastructure, including pumps, valves, chillers, AHUs, RTUs, heat exchangers, VFDs, switchgear, generators, UPS, PDUs, electrical panels, overhead busway products, and their associated control and monitoring systems
  • General facilities support experience, with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace equipment such as manually and electrically secured doors, air filters, clogged drains, pressure washers, forklifts, manlifts, weed eaters, and riding mowers
  • Physical fitness to climb, squat, lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, carry boxes and equipment, and work with hands using tools and test equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong digital communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to support 24x7x365 operations and rotate shifts for training and priority projects
  • Self-motivated, with high ethical standards and professional conduct
  • Industry-related certifications or an associate degree in a technical area strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma required
