Pleasanton, CA., March 15, 2016 – Nautilus Data Technologies today announced the appointment of James L. Connaughton as President and Chief Executive Officer – bringing decades of executive experience and environmental conservation leadership to the revolutionary data center company. Connaughton succeeds Nautilus Data Technologies Founder Arnold Magcale, who will continue in the role of Chief Technology Officer. The executive leadership changes position Nautilus Data Technologies for accelerated growth as the company prepares to launch the world’s first commercial waterborne data center.
“I’m excited to pass the helm to Jim Connaughton, a distinguished leader and one of the country’s leading experts on energy, environment and ocean conservation,” said Arnold Magcale, Founder and CTO of Nautilus Data Technologies. “Mr. Connaughton’s background as both successful corporate executive and trusted White House policymaker provides the perfect blend of talent to lead Nautilus Data Technologies into the future as we transform the data center industry.”
Connaughton has served as Executive Vice President at several prominent clean energy and information technology companies. In 2001, the United States Senate unanimously confirmed Mr. Connaughton as Chairman of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, where he served until 2009 as President George W. Bush’s senior advisor on energy, environment and natural resources. There he helped develop and implement market-based policy and technology solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges – including energy production, air and water pollution, climate change, wetlands restoration, and conservation of marine resources.
“Nautilus Data Technologies is one of the most ingenious companies I’ve encountered in the clean technology sector and I’m thrilled to lead this dynamic team,” said James L. Connaughton, President & CEO of Nautilus Data Technologies. “Founder and former U.S. Navy Special Forces veteran Arnold Magcale is a true visionary who is redefining the data center industry by creating the most energy efficient, cost-effective, sustainable, and globally scalable data center on the market. I look forward to transitioning the company from successful technology development to full commercial deployment, providing cloud companies and their users an immediate opportunity to greatly improve their economic and environmental performance.”
